A Day To Remember

Mother and Father of the bride on her special wedding day.

Excited to share this special guest post written by Deborah Gardner Foster

There are some days in life that feel like a dream—filled with beauty, love, and moments that take your breath away. My daughter’s October wedding was one of those extraordinary days, one that will forever live in my heart.

Everything about it was magical. The weather was crisp and clear, the trees wore their autumn colors proudly, and love was in the air. One grand tree, surrounded by soft lights and dressed with garlands, stood at the heart of the ceremony. It became a symbol of strength and beauty—a witness to a love story beginning its next chapter.

The flowers were absolutely perfect. – thank you  Statice Flowers! With rich hues of burnt orange, soft blush, deep burgundy, and cream, they captured the warmth of the season and the spirit of celebration. The bouquet—oh, the bouquet—was a true work of art. It was a reflection of my daughter’s heart: vibrant, graceful, and filled with intention.

The colors of the day danced in harmony with the season. From the dresses to the table décor, every detail felt effortless and full of meaning. It was one of those rare times when everything comes together just right.

In the days after the wedding, I wanted to hold onto more than just memories and photographs—I wanted something lasting, something that would carry the beauty and emotion of that day into the future. That’s when I commissioned the incredibly talented Amy Crews to paint my daughter’s wedding bouquet.

The custom oil painting of the wedding flowers

Amy’s work is nothing short of stunning. She captured every petal, every color, and—most importantly—the feeling behind it all. The painting now hangs in my daughter’s home, and mine (I commissioned a print). Every time we see it, we are transported back to that glorious October day. It’s more than a piece of astonishing art—it’s a treasured keepsake, a quiet reminder of joy, love, and one unforgettable beginning.

Boquet is now a treasured keepsake to be enjoyed for years far beyond the wedding day.

Commissioning a painting by Amy Crews was a inspired by my relationship with her cousin, Becky Davis Morlok.  It was one of the best decisions I made after the wedding. Her painting is a beautiful legacy of a perfect day—and a gift I know my daughter and I will cherish for a lifetime.
